Woke up this morning in my castle, poured myself of hot rich brewed Blue Mountain Coffee, sat on the grounds of the castle overlooking the sea and thought to myself "What a Wonderful World". I think I want to stay here.
I'll back up a bit. Trip here went pretty well. A bit of a frazzle at Winnipeg Airport. I took a carry on and a daypack to find out that the daypack was too big. So here I am down on the floor in Winnipeg Airport with all my luggage open and items strewn around trying to re-organize. People must of though I was nuts. Some mad pony tailed woman on the ground with florescent lime green flippers, blue noodle and a wine glasses, the West Jet staff were amused.
As I am typing this a catamarine is floating by (and yes I'm having a Red Stripe beer).
Listening to Riahanna.
The ride from the airport to Negil was interesting. The steering wheel of the car is on the left side, they drive on the left side, and when there is a road side saying SLOW, they speed as fast as they can. Got to the castle last night in time for my first sunset. Glorious. Then out and about, pretty pitch black out on the streets of the West End, didn't venture too far. But I did meet a Jamaican named Long Beard. Guess why. I met him again in the daylight. He was thrilled I remembered his name. Here is Long Beard.
I found a little place to have a few beer and I met lots of people. The owner's wife was in Winnipeg visiting friends last summer. Small world. It is called No Limit. Here is it.
Here is my room at the Castle.
While walking to a grocery store to stock up the fridge.... some pretty flowers.
Went for a long walk into town and then Negril Beach. Long Beach and let me tell you it is long, didn't even make it to the end, another day. Of course, don't know how, passed the backlane where I cut through to the beach and I walked too far and had to cut through a little shanty like settlement. Everyone was friendly and greeted me as I literally was cutting through their yards.
A Jamaican Farewell .... till tommorow.
